I definitely just rode a NYC train along with this dog’s long lost brother. Yup, these four russian guys wearing shemaghs were definitely just chillin on the train with a dog just like this, slightly larger even, at the end of a non too reassuring chain. I was cool until the giant dog got hyper and almost broke loose. Thankfully the guys, with dog in tow, left shortly after wolfy (what i’ve decided to call the the bear-sized dog) almost went rabies.
It’s straight up snowing right now. Don’t think I’m trying to go shopping in this mess. The two parties I was trying to hit up tonight are on pause indefinitely. Looks like a tea, hair, movies, laundry kinda day.
bah humbug

*applauds* Wow. This guy is awesome.

I went to a real life speakeasy here in NYC on Wednesday night. There was a password to give at the end of a dark corridor and all. The band, fronted by a high school friend, was absolutely amazing. Musicianship and showmanship at its finest.

I thought I had retired this scarf. Unfortunately NY weather and I are not of the same mind. harumph
God bless those of you who actually got some rest this weekend. I wasn’t among your number. I did go to some pretty intresting places though:
The Hotel Pennsylvania- historical, expensive NYC hotel with the absolute smelliest carpet and dingiest rooms dispite its grand façade
The Regal Times Square- where I saw Sucker Punch. WARNING: this movie is for horney little boys and grubby old men.
The Apollo Theater- historical Harlem theater where I attended the Urban Word Annual Teen Poetry Slam Finals. Those young poets are amazing beyond words.
Melba’s- a harlem soul food hotspot with the greatest food ever. Best way to describe it: FLAVOR.
Footprints- over-priced caribbean cuisine I don’t mind paying for. Rasta pasta with jerk salmon. Nuff Said.
On my way home I passed by a man yelling at his dogs:
“If you gonna doo-doo go ‘head and doo-doo. Doo-doo or no doo-doo we going upstairs in five more minutes. It’s cold out here!”
-_-
today i road the subway from work to home with a strange little man staring at me the whole ride. he got off and my stop and “jokingly” asked if i saw him staring to which i replied, “hear no evil, see no evil.” *nervous giggle* he then introduced himself and said he hopes to see me around.
i have never walked home so fast in my life…looking behind me the entire way to be sure i wasn’t being followed. i wasn’t going to let that fool see where i lived. not for nothing never happen.
NY1 traffic: subway suspensions look like alphabet soup: A, C, E, 7, B, D, F, M, J, Z, N, Q & R — Amtrak, NJT Buses, SI Railway & LIRR too!
I find it’s gotten too cold too quick here in NYC. This North Face weather’s pouncing on fall is unexcused. Neither is it appreciated. I can tell my pea coat is going to get very little shine this “autumn” becaues winter seems to have taken over november. Brrr.
Excuse my chattering teeth.
